    CHIEF OF STAFF
    alyssa@repguzzardi.com

Alyssa is a community organizer and resident of the 39th District. In her decade-long work as an organizer in Chicago, she has built people power alongside multi-racial and multi-generational working class coalitions on issues at the state-level and city-level, including environmental justice, local electoral work, independent political organizations, and labor. Alyssa started on the 39th District Team as Director of Communications and Outreach and is excited to continue this work of good government that goes beyond meeting basic needs, to improve the quality of life for all. Alyssa has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Roosevelt University.

  • Saul A.

    DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
    saul@repguzzardi.com

One would call Saul “Chicago’s very own,” but the truth is, he has extended beyond our city and state borders. After experiencing the deportation of his mother in 2007, he moved to Mexico for several years. Saul’s mother, a human rights activist, took on the US government's immigration policies with others who were seeking sanctuary. From a young age, the impact of community action became ingrained in him and being on the front lines of changing policies has fortunately led him to become a community leader on his own. Saul is a 2017 graduate of Alternative High School Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos, and his resilience and dedication to seeking knowledge and community led him to college. He graduated in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Justice from Northeastern Illinois University.

  • Michelle M.

    SUMMER 2025 COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERN

Michelle was born and raised in Chicago, and she is a rising sophomore at Bowdoin College where she plans on majoring in Government and Legal Studies. She is dedicated to public service, especially for underrepresented groups. As a first-generation Latina, she is passionate about supporting low-income and underrepresented students pursuing higher education through policy reform and community organizing. She is excited to get hands-on experience in a government office to learn how to advocate for the 39th district and their needs.

  • Zubaidah B.

    SUMMER 2025 MIKVA FELLOW

Zubaidah is a rising freshman at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She plans to major in Accounting and Finance at the Gies School of Business this fall. She was a part of Mikva Challenge’s Safety and Justice Council, a student-led initiative working to create recommendations for Illinois Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle, regarding reentry services for justice-impacted youth. This summer, she is working at the 39th District office through Mikva Challenge’s Summer Fellows internship to gain insight into working with local government to learn more about our community needs and participate in events that uplift constituents. Zubaidah is also a resident of the 39th District and is passionate about advocating for youth voices in making change within their communities and city.
