Join us for a Northwest Side Progressive Post-Election Debrief
Dear Neighbor,
It’s been a tough week.
I know many of us are still reeling from the election results, wondering what the next four years will hold, whether our loved ones will be safe, whether institutions we take for granted — our schools and universities, the public health apparatus, an independent court system — will survive. The steady drumbeat of announcements — a spouter of Kremlin propaganda in charge of national intelligence, an alleged sex trafficker in charge of our nation’s law enforcement — certainly hasn’t steadied my nerves.
Here’s something that I think will help: let’s all get together and talk about what’s next.
This Saturday, November 16 at 10am at Roosevelt High School (3436 W Wilson Ave.), a group of Northwest Side progressive elected officials is gathering with community leaders and neighbors for an election debrief. We’ll create space to talk about how we’re feeling, how we can support each other, and what policy solutions we can work on to protect our neighbors and change the narrative. Click here to RSVP.
I’ll be joined by Congresswoman Delia Ramirez as well as a big cohort of state, county, and city elected officials. If you’re feeling scared, nervous, uncertain, or in need of community right now, please come join us.
All my best,
Will
